Mitsubishi Electric helped
pioneer the mini-split (or ductless) technology as a means
of providing Japan's growing population with a highly
efficient way to cool and heat their homes and businesses.
They designed the Mr. Slim system to fit into spaces that
could not otherwise have been effectively heated or cooled
due to the close proximity of Japan's buildings, plus they
needed a system that was extremely quiet.
For more than 27 years,
Mitsubishi Electric HVAC Advanced Products Division, with
headquarters in Suwanee, Ga., has been a leading marketer
of intelligent air-conditioning and heating technology,
manufactured by its parent corporation, Mitsubishi
Electric. Originally established to market
air-conditioning and heating systems in North America, the
division has expanded its market distribution to include
Latin America, the Caribbean and Bermuda. A 2004 survey by
ACH&R News listed Mitsubishi Electric as contractors’ most
preferred ductless manufacturer and the number one brand
in price/value, availability, reliability and performance
specifications.
